From Alberta Anger to Atlantic Opportunity
The inside story of the White Rose Oil Project

What if one of Alberta’s most controversial policies helped launch offshore oil in Newfoundland?

The National Energy Program left a lasting scar in Alberta, but it also pushed exploration east, setting the stage for White Rose. An offshore oil drilling project that took 21 years to go from discovery to first oil.

Hear the story from someone who was there.

Walt DeBoni spent 44 years in the petroleum industry and oversaw construction of the offshore production facilities for White Rose. He’ll take you behind the scenes of one of Canada’s most important energy developments, and what it still tells us about pipelines, tidewater access, and Canada’s energy future today. If you care about energy, politics, or how big projects actually get built, this is a rare chance to hear it firsthand.

This event is a fund raiser for the benefit of the Historical Society of Alberta. Admission to Cheer Beer Brewery is by donation. Go to:
