It’s been more than 100 years since the passing of the Chinese Immigration Act — a federal law banning immigration from China to Canada from 1923 to 1947.  Chinook Country Historical Society is proud to support Calgary based writer Jacqueline Louie for the launch of her book examining the impact of the 1923 Chinese Immigration Act, and the contributions of some of the early Chinese immigrants to Canada.
